Carothers/Green on fragile states, politics of development

Earlier today Duncan Green offered some great notes on a talk by Tom Carothers at a recent DFID conference. Full post here. It’s worth a read, especially for anyone interested in the interaction between governance, politics and economic development. Carothers described how research and real world events have combined to move ideas forward. Both Carothers and Green ask for input on what the next set of research questions should be. I make a suggestion of my own in a comment at the bottom. And I’ve gotta say, It’s pretty darn insightful.
